Sunday Mornings
Every Sunday morning we gather together as a faith community to glorify our God and celebrate what he has done for us through Jesus Christ. We meet at 9:30 am. During the service we greet one another, and sing songs of praise, led by our praise team consisting of singers and musicians. One of our elders leads in prayer, and people can write down their prayer requests or have someone pray for them if they desire. We hear about opportunities for ministry involvement, and take an offering so the church family can joyfully give to the Lord what they have determined (our church budget is supported by the tithes and offerings of our community members – visitors are not expected to give). Then our pastor preaches a message from God’s Word, the Bible. The service usually ends around 10:45. One Sunday per month (usually the first Sunday) we celebrate Communion in remembrance of Jesus’ sacrificial death on the cross.
The atmosphere is lively but respectful: we know that we are called to worship the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The dress is casual but appropriate: we desire to do all things to the glory of God.
Children
We love children and believe they are capable of having a growing walk of faith with Jesus. Our commitment is to partner with parents in the spiritual nurturing of each child, so they can become fully devoted followers of Jesus. We have a dedicated staff member for children’s ministries, and special programming geared to their ages.
Ministries to children on Sunday include: Nursery (ages birth – 3 years) and Children's Church (ages 4 – Grade 5), which take place during all or part of the worship service. Children's Hands-on Worship (age 4 to Grade 5) follows the worship service. All volunteers are screened for safety and are trained for ministry to children. Additional ministries are offered at other times as listed in the Sunday Bulletin.
Prayer
We believe in the power of prayer, and we encourage people to pray without ceasing! Oak Hill people are faithful to go before God’s throne of grace and intercede on behalf of others’ needs. We invite people to write prayer requests during the Sunday worship service, and we have a Prayer Chain for emergency needs. Prayer needs can be called or emailed into the church at anytime.
