What is Oak Hill Christian
School?
OHCS is
an inter-denominational Christian day school affiliated with Oak
Hill Bible Church. The primary objective of the school is
to provide each child with a foundation for life and learning in a
Christ-centered environment.
What are the future plans
of Oak Hill Christian School?
We began in
2003 with grades K-4. Our plan is to add one grade each
year through eighth grade. There are no plans at present to
offer instruction beyond grade eight.
How many children will be
in each classroom?
The size of each class will vary depending upon
enrollment. Classes may contain more than one grade level.
In cases where class sizes are high, additional staff will be
added to ensure that each child receives the individual
attention needed.
Are your teachers
certified?
In all cases teachers are dedicated Christian who will be
godly role models for the children. All faculty will be
degreed and will be certified (or working on certification)
through the Association of Christian School International (ACSI).
What is the level of
parental involvement?
Parents are urged to be active participants in the education
of their child(ren). Opportunities for involvement by
parents include, but are not limited to, volunteer help in and out of the classroom,
participation in field trip activities, and participation in
fund-raising campaigns. Parents are welcome to visit classrooms at
any time with prior arrangement. We believe parents are an
important part of their chil(ren)'s educations.
Are uniforms required?
OHCS has adopted a dress code that emphasizes modesty and
appropriate dress for children. No uniforms will be
required. Details are provided in the student handbook.
Is transportation
provided?
No. Parents will be responsible for transporting their child(ren)
to and from school.
